What is Ballin' in the Basin?
Ballin' in the Basin is Williston Parks and Recreation District's semi-annual Youth Basketball Tournament. Since its start in 2018, boys and girls basketball teams in grades 3-8 have traveled from Minnesota, Canada, Montana, and communities across North Dakota to participate.
In 2019, Ballin' in the Basin was awarded Event of the Year by the Williston Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and continues to establish itself as a staple in Upper Midwest travel basketball. Our tournaments regularly welcome 100+ teams to Williston, resulting in thousands of visits to our facilities throughout the two-day event.
Qualify for the North Dakota State Championship
Our December Ballin' in the Basin is an official qualifier for the North Dakota State Basketball Championship, taking place March 5-7, 2027, in Fargo, North Dakota.
Teams finishing 1st or 2nd in each division will qualify for the State Championship, where more than 150 teams in grades 3-8 are expected to compete from communities across North Dakota.
